The October Caddis Hatch makes otherwise smart Large Fish really vulnerable. The October Caddis is one of the biggest caddis patterns and represents a significant meal for hungry trout. I've often visited the upper pool near California's Hat Creek Power House Number 2 during Fall and it almost scares you when a 20+ inch Brown Trout comes launching out of the water 3 feet or more chasing October Caddis. This pattern represents an emergent Caddis. Fish it dead-drifted through likely looking runs, or let it swing at the tail end of your drift. This fly catches fish! |
