October Caddis

October Caddis:

The October Caddis hatch is much anticipated on many of my home waters in California. The past several years have featured profuse October Caddis hatches on the Upper Sacramento River. Great big moths flying about the river until evening time, when they return to deposit eggs for the next generation. And the trout react with reckless abandon, taking these insects aggressively as soon as they hit the water.
