The Bird's Nest is an outdated old fly that gets passed by in most fly shops, EXCEPT for those fly fisherman that know better! It is an awesome pattern. I like to fish this fly as a dropper below an Elk Hair Caddis late in the evening during the caddis hatch on Hat Creek, just below the Power House Riffle. The larger trout move into that area during the hatch and feed exclusively on emerging Caddis.....the Bird's Nest is an excellent imitation of the natural. |
