The Serendipity is a go to fly. When fishing the Madison River in Montana, if you don't have a serendipity tied on, you're not fishing! This pattern is tied in Red, Olive and brown. I generally fish this pattern as the dropper fly underneath a beadhead nymph. The hollow deer hair wing causes this fly to sweep upward behind the beadhead, which is an excellent imitation of the natural behavior of emerging caddis flies. I catch a lot of fish on this combination! |
