This fly is a very effective pattern for those tough trout sipping midges in lakes. Generally I grease the leader to all but about the last 6 inches and fish this fly either in the surface film, or just below the surface film. I watch the trout to see a snout above the water (fish in the surface film), or a dorsal fin breaking the surface (fish just under the surface). |
