The High-Vis Parachute Hopper is a great pattern for "pounding the banks" of your favorite river. It's easy to see, even in poor lighting conditions. I've fished this pattern successfully on the Madison, the Green and the Bechler in Yellowstone Park. I try to cast this pattern within inches of the bank. Sometimes the fish slam the fly, and sometimes a shadow just appears and gently sipps the hopper in before that explosion of fish, water and flyline. Fishing hoppers along the bank on a windy day is a very exciting and memorable experience. |
