Foam has really come into its own over the past several years and is now a standard for many key terrestrial and other patterns. This fly is tied with a Black Foam body and Elk Hair legs. I also tie a version which adds a tuft of poly yarn on top to make this fly easier to see on the water. An excellent beetle pattern for those long lazy days of summer when it seems not much dry fly action occurs. |
