The Purple Peril is a common pattern in many of California's and Oregon's Blue Ribbon Steelhead rivers. Tied on a classic turned-up eye black Salmon/Steelhead hook. This fly features a Purple hackle tail, purple chenile body Purple Hackle and a Red Squirel Tail wing. I've tied this pattern Spey style and adapted the fly slightly to feature a bright orange head and Krystal Flash to give it that little extra. |
