I designed this pattern to fish for bass in my local California waters. I never tied it on or fished it until a trip to British Columbia to fish for rainbows in Quesnel Lake and the Mitchell River. I caught my largest ever rainbow that trip; he was 27 inches 8 pounds. This year I fished this fly in Patagonia and again it was responsible for my largest ever fish; a big brown of 28 inshes and about 10 pounds in the Lemay Medio river. Needless to say, the Elysia Special is on of my favorite patterns. |
