Caddis Dry Flies:
Caddis Hatches can present exciting fishing. My first experience fishing in a Caddis hatch was on California's famous Hat Creek. Late in the evening there was an incredible Caddis hatch. It looked like it was snowing towards the sky there were so many Caddis coming off the water. And the fish were feeding so aggressively it seemed as though someone had thrown a handful of fish pellets into a hatchery run. Matching the hatch was not important, but adding action onto your fly by skating it across the surface was, and brought aggressive strikes. My evening ended after I broke off a large fish and I couldn't see to tie on another fly!
I've listed many of the more common Caddis Dry Flies in this selection, and some of my favorites. If you don't see a particular pattern you're looking for, let me know. I'm sure I can tie it!
